EN – This weekend was the International Sibiu marathon. We were very fortunate to have a project registered at the marathon and that we had people fundraising for it. We had 39 people participating as runners for our project and so far we have raised the amazing amount of 11.130 Lei. There is still time to donate to one of our runners.
Our project is to start the process of installing a solar panel system on the Santuary. The Sanctuary is a “locuința maxim protejată” (LMP) and we help adults with disabilities who have grown up in intuitions. Our goal is to help them to be integrated into society and to live an independent life and to have a purpose in life.
We would like to say thank you to Jez Allan, Claudiu Mureșan, Robert Rowe and all the staff at Kuka Sibiu. There will be a plaque with the names of everybody who donated and participated at the Sibiu Marathon for this project.
Also thank you Sibiu Marathon for organizing an amazing event and for allowing us to have a project at the event.
RO – În acest weekend a avut loc Maratonul Internațional Sibiu. Am fost foarte norocoși să avem un proiect înregistrat la maraton și că am avut oameni pentru strângerea de fonduri. Am avut 39 de persoane care au participat ca alergători la proiectul nostru și până acum am strâns uimitoarea sumă de 11.130 Lei.
Proiectul nostru este de a începe procesul de instalare a unui sistem de panouri solare pe Santuar. Sanctuarul este o locuință maxim protejată (LMP) și ajutăm adulții cu dizabilități care au crescut în instituții. Scopul nostru este să-i ajutăm să fie integrați în societate și să trăiască o viață independentă, să aibă un scop în viață.
Dorim să le mulțumim lui Jez Allen, Claudiu Mureșan, Robert Rowe și întregului personal de la KUKA. Va exista o placă cu numele tuturor celor care au donat și au participat la Maratonul de la Sibiu pentru acest proiect.
De asemenea, mulțumim Maratonul Internațional Sibiu pentru organizarea unui eveniment extraordinar și pentru că ne-ați permis să avem un proiect la eveniment.

Day 1 finished with some games in the evening in the yard and cellar of Michelsberger Haus where we are staying.
Torsten’s fundraising event

Helping Ukrainian children
Last Saturday Love Light Romania along with some volunteers went to a local village where there are 27 children that came form a children's center in Ukraine at the start of the war.
Love Light Romania helps over 1,000 Ukrainians

This week we planted 200 fruit trees at our project in Jacodu. 50 Apples, 50 Pears, 50 Cherries and 50 Plums

The residents at the Sanctuary have been busy making beeswax candles and also labeling them and packaging.

We have had Oana Irina cringasu from Somartin chocolate with the help of Adela dengue joerges come and do a chocolate workshop with our beneficiaries

World AIDS Day 2020
Today is World Aids day. Today we raise awareness of HIV and Aids. Over the years the medical treatment for HIV and Aids has got so much better.
Winter clothes parcels arrive
Just six weeks since we launched the appeal, our young people at Jacodu Children's Project all have an individually made-up winter clothes parcel.
Candle making
Another day of practicing to make candles. Today we have started to old recycled jars. We have used pine scents and cinnamon scents with the bees wax.
Sanctuary Renovation
Today we have just finished renovating our new multipurpose room. It will be used for activities, a meeting room and we will have our support groups here.
Valentine’s day cake making
Today the children on the Jacodu education program and everybody at the Sanctuary have been decorating chocolate cakes for Valentine's day.
Albesti distribution
Today we gave out the weekly vegetable parcels to the children in Albesti . The program works from November until the end of February.

Last night we got the privilege of working with Father Christmas and helped him bring happiness to some children that had to stay in hospital
Bike-a-thon
We had the Sanctuary residents over to Jacodu and together with the children from the education program we managed to raise £ 603.
