The Sanctuary is a care home for institutionalized adults with disabilities. The people who live here have been abandoned by society and by their families.
At the Sanctuary we offer our residents tailor made life skills programs depending on their abilities and special needs. We want to teach them the life skills that they didn’t learn whilst growing up pin institutions. They then either go onto live an independent life, or they call the Sanctuary their forever home.
The Sanctuary is unique as it is one of just a handful of centers in Romania that accept people with HIV. This is important as many institutionalized children in the 80’s and 90’s got infected with HIV.
